An Eye for the Land Exhibition

An Eye for the Land Exhibition

The next exhibition at Made in the Marches Gallery in Kington (September – October) will be called Stratifications, and will show work inspired by the idea of layers of structure, formation or meaning.

There will be an informal presentation from Mr R. Williams, a member of the Woolhope Naturalists Field Club, who will present his beautiful original edition of ‘The Silurian System’, which is a work of art in itself.  Published in 1839, it describes the relationship between surface landscape features, underlying geology and the ancient formation of the strata, focussing on the Silurian Era, the rocks of which are exposed throughout the Welsh Borders.

Visitors are invited to ‘drop in’ on Friday 30th and Saturday 31st August between 11am and 4pm for this special event.
