Concerts for Craswall present Duo Maddalena & The Amyas Ensemble
EVENT CANCELLED – please see statement from website below:
Owing to the growing Coronavirus outbreak, the trustees of Concerts for Craswall have decided to postpone the forthcoming concert planned for Saturday March 21st 2020. We have taken the difficult decision that it’s better not to hold a public concert at this time. It is disappointing, however, the responsibility to keep our audiences, the performers and our volunteers as safe as possible is paramount. Updates will continue to be posted on this page.
Concerts for Craswall present Duo Maddalena & The Amyas Ensemble
“Music from the Mediaeval to the late Renaissance”
Janet Oates – voice, recorder, percussion Lucy Green – voice, hurdy gurdy
Emily Baines – woodwinds Arngeir Hauksson – lutes, percussion
Duo Maddalena and The Amyas Ensemble perform a feast of early music from the Mediaeval to the late Renaissance, including pieces for lute, woodwinds, vielle-á-roue (hurdy-gurdy) and voices. Their performance showcases works by Landini, Ciconia, Dowland, and Strozzi, as well as songs from the Cantigas de Santa Maria collection.
And if this exhilarating programme is not motivation enough to join us, the evening will offer the audience a special opportunity try out a few of these early instruments for themselves.
Tickets: £15 (student under 25 £7.50) online at concertsforcraswall.org by phone 01981 510112.
