Dr Dolittle

Barking Dog Theatre return to The Courtyard this March with their latest production, Dr Dolittle.

Dr Dolittle prefers animals to people. With the help of his parrot Polynesia, he learns to speak with all the animals and soon becomes a wonderful vet. He is summoned to help cure an outbreak among the monkeys in Africa and has an eventful journey with his trusty dog Jip and his monkey Chee Chee. Barking Dog’s two talented actors present this wonderful adventure.

With original music and audience participation as well as use of puppetry and mime, Dr Dolittle is the perfect family show, suitable for children aged 5-10.

Formed in 1987 in Barking, Essex, The Barking Dog Theatre Company produces shows specifically written and designed for children and their families.

Over the last thirty years the company have produced dozens of shows which they have performed to thousands of children and families. So far Barking Dog have toured to schools and theatres in the South of England, Wales, Ireland, Scotland and Russia.
