Opened in late Spring 2022 Gwatkin Red Cow is the ideal place to enjoy delicious home cooked food in the heart of the beautiful Golden Valley.
Take in the picturesque views from the glass fronted restaurant or in the sunshine on the licensed lawn area.
The talented chefs use only the finest ingredients sourced locally to create traditional hearty dishes cooked to an exceptional standard. You’ll also find a few twists on the traditional, just to keep things interesting.
Join Gwatkin Red cow for an evening meal, one of their lunchtime favourites, a hearty breakfast, popular Sunday roast, or just pop in for homemade cake.

There are lots of menu highlights but the award winning Red Cow Pie is a must try. The popular pie consists of Steak and gammon slow cooked in Butty Bach until tender, encased in an all-butter shortcrust pastry. Served with hand cut chips or mash, vegetables and extra gravy.
The restaurant is proud to serve Black Mountain Roast coffee, a selection of teas and the bar offers a range of wines, beers, spirits and of course Gwatkin ciders.
During your visit why not take a look at the rare breed poultry, goats and sheep, or the vintage cider making equipment.
Booking is highly recommended, but do pop in if you’re passing you’ll always receive a warm welcome!
