Malvern Showground transformed into a Christmas wonderland as Winter Glow, the biggest Christmas event in the West Midlands, illuminated the Three Counties Showground on Friday, officially kicking off the festive season.

Open until Tuesday 31 December, the event offers a range of magical experiences for families and friends to enjoy, from the region’s biggest outdoor light trail to ice skating, mini golf, and personalised Santa experiences.

The opening weekend was Winter Glow’s most spectacular yet, as its team of over 110 elves and human helpers welcomed thousands of local families to the event for festive fun.

West Midlands’ biggest Christmas event is set to return with more attractions than ever before.

Winter Glow, the West Midlands’ biggest festive experience, has announced it will return to the Malvern Showground for Christmas 2024, promising even more magic than ever before.

Open from Friday 22 November to Saturday 31 December, the festive event will offer locals six weeks of unforgettable Christmas cheer with a wide array of festive activities to enjoy, including brand-new additions for 2024.

UV Glow Crazy Golf

Visitors will be able to challenge their loved ones to a game of glow-in-the-dark mini golf on Winter Glow’s new 18-hole course, featuring elf-themed UV designs and plenty of surprises along the way.

Personalised Santa’s Grotto Experience

The beloved Santa’s Grotto will return with two new elves, Tinker Toymaker and Frosty Wanderer, offering an immersive adventure into a winter wonderland. Groups of up to eight can enjoy a personalised experience that includes a visit to Mrs Claus’ bakery, the toy workshop, and a winter village, before an unforgettable meeting with Santa himself.

Expanded Light Trail

Winter Glow’s renowned light trail takes on a brand-new theme for 2024, as it introduces ‘The Light Guardians’. Designed and created by local artists and lighting designers, the trail will transport visitors on a mesmerising adventure through dazzling illuminations.

The Region’s Largest Covered Ice Rink

Visitors will also have the opportunity to skate along to festive classics on the region’s largest covered real ice rink. Decorated with twinkling lights and giant snowflakes, the rink is the perfect place to get into the Christmas spirit.

Fairground Fun for All Ages

From the iconic big wheel to Dodgems, a festive funhouse, bungee trampolines, and classic fairground games, Winter Glow’s fairground promises endless entertainment for the young and the young-at-heart.

Santa Paws

Back by popular demand, Winter Glow’s famous dog-friendly Santa meet-and-greet experiences will return for 2024. Plus, it remains the only festive event in the West Midlands that welcomes dogs to its light trail, with furry friends invited to join on opening weekend and any weekday booking.

Winter Glow 2024 is partnering with Winston’s Wish, a bereavement charity for children and young people. They will host the first Winston’s Winter Glow Wander on December 1, offering exclusive access to a magical Christmas light trail at the Three Counties Showground in Malvern. The event aims to create lasting memories for bereaved families during a challenging time of year. Proceeds from ticket sales will support Winston’s Wish’s services. The event includes a light trail, Christmas market, and food quarter. Tickets for this one off event can be purchased here.
