Ross-on-Wye Hedgehog Festival brings educational nature and arts based events to teach children and adults of all ages about preserving hedgehogs and their habitats as well as raising their awareness about our town’s ancient links to the hedgehog.

The aim of the Hedgehog Festival is to educate children and adults of all ages about the hedgehog, which is the symbol of Ross-on-Wye and to raise the profile of Ross-on-Wye as the Gateway to the ancient kingdom of Ergyng (AngloSaxon: Archenfield: Land of Hedgehogs).

Ross-on-Wye has it all! Hailed as the birthplace of tourism in 1745, it has a 16C market House which exudes history and tradition. Spectacular scenery all around the town, make this an ideal place to explore Wye Valley, Herefordshire, Gloucestershire and as far as Monmouthshire in Wales. There are boutique shops, as well as big names including Labels Shopping where you can go to the trendy new cinema The Gateway as well as castles, abbeys, adventure experiences, walking and cycling routes, museums and so much more.
