Eastnor Castle Foraging Courses
Foraging courses are held around Eastnor Castle Deer Park, a beautiful 300 acre park overlooking Eastnor Castle and the Malvern Hills. Its mixture of parkland and wooded areas provide a variety of wild plants and mushrooms throughout the year.
Being on the outskirts of Ledbury, this well situated venue is within easy reach of Malvern, Bromyard, Hereford, Worcester, Ross-on-wye, Cheltenham and Gloucester.
Meet in the deer park. The course starts there with a short introduction on what to look for, the foraging code and a brief of the Countryside Act, where it relates to foraging.
It is roughly a 2.5 hour walk around the deer park and the castle grounds, and you will learn how to identify the different plants, flowers, fruits and mushrooms that can be found.
There will be a stop along the way for some seasonal homemade refreshments.
After the walk the day will end with a tasty wild food lunch based on what is found. All of the food is seasonal so what is made depends on recent weather and what is around at that time of year.
