The Inaugural ‘Great Malvern Festival of Stories for Children’ will take place from Thursday 20 October – Sunday 23 October 2022 in a number of venues, including a Festival Marquee and Festival Storytelling Yurt in the Great Malvern Priory Grounds, The Lyttleton Well, The Coach House Theatre, The Cube and Malvern Library.

The Festival promises to be a celebration of stories and storytelling, featuring an exciting programme of professional storytellers, children’s authors, illustrators, puppet companies, musicians and theatre. The Festival is a Malvern Hills District Council initiative in collaboration with Malvern based Arts Company Boffy Arts Events People.

The first two days will be aimed at local schools, who will be offered an opportunity to attend and take part in the specially designed programme. This will be followed by a fantastic family programme on Saturday and Sunday open to everyone.

The festival is still being finalised but organisers can already announce that it will feature recently appointed Children’s Laureate; Joseph Coelho, popular children’s author / illustrator Korky Paul, Internationally renown Storytellers; Peter Chand and Cat Weatherill, and Puppet Theatre by Lempen Puppets, Indigo Moon Puppet Theatre and Sealegs Puppets.

There will be a mixture of free and ticketed events, with multi-buy ticket discounts available through the Malvern Theatres Box Office.
