Kinky Boots Musical

X-Entricity, the company that brought West Side Story, Guys and Dolls and Priscilla Queen of the Desert return to The Courtyard this summer with musical Kinky Boots.

Winner of every major Best Musical award, and with original songs by pop legend Cyndi Lauper, Kinky Boots is inspired by a true story.  The high-heeled hit will transport audiences from the factory floor to the catwalks of Milan, in a feel-good and heart-warming tale of friendship, joy and laughter.

Charlie Price has reluctantly inherited his father’s shoe factory, which is on the verge of bankruptcy. Trying to live up to his father’s legacy and save his family business, Charlie finds inspiration in the form of Lola. A fabulous entertainer in need of some sturdy stilettos, Lola turns out to be the one person who can help Charlie become the man he’s meant to be. As they work to turn the factory around, this unlikely pair finds that they have more in common than they ever dreamed possible.

“We are absolutely thrilled to be able to get back onto The Courtyard stage again!” Says X-Entricity Director Steve Liddle, “By the time we perform it will have been nearly two years since our last show, so we are itching to bring the musical magic back to Hereford audiences. As this production is initially being sold at socially distanced capacity, there should be absolutely no reason for it to not go ahead which is incredibly exciting! We are so thankful to The Courtyard for supporting us to make this all happen after what has been a very difficult 12 months for the industry and theatre fans.”

Kinky Boots proudly proves that sometimes, the best way to fit in is to stand out and promises to be the ultimate antidote to lockdown blues.

Herefordshire based theatre company, X-entricity first formed in 2002 and has trained and developed over 1000 local young people. The Company were due to perform Shrek the Musical in May 2020, which has now been moved to 2022.

Tickets for Kinky Boots will be sold at reduced capacity with social distancing measures in place, unless government advice changes.
