Ancient Oak of Baldor

The Ancient Oak of Baldor

Frozen Light returns to The Courtyard this March with The Ancient Oak of Baldor, a folk tale of love, loss and the interconnectedness of all things.

The show is a multi-sensory experience for audiences with profound and multiple learning disabilities and their companions, offering the chance to gather and experience the collective power of shared stories.

The Ancient Oak stands strong in the Forest of Baldor, in the land of Earten. There it has stood for millenia, rooted deeply to both the land and people of the forest. On this day, at the cusp of winter, the people of Baldor are celebrating The Great Cracking of the Ancient Oak.

Elspeth hoped this was the day that Lars would return. But when he doesn’t she is taken on an unexpected journey. One that she will never forget.

Frozen Light creates engaging interactive theatre, that audiences with profound and multiple learning disabilities can enjoy. The company builds safe spaces in which they can take risks and transport audiences to sensory worlds.

Frozen Light welcomes audiences into their latest fantasy realm in The Ancient Oak of Baldor, where they will discover that what truly nourishes us through the long nights is our capacity for love in all its different forms.

The Ancient Oak of Baldor will be in The Courtyard’s Studio Theatre on Tuesday 18 – Friday 21 March at 11am & 1.30pm. To book tickets, or for more information contact the Box Office on 01432 340555 or visit www.courtyard.org.uk.
