What Songs May Do…
Rendez-Vous Dance Company present What Songs May Do… at The Courtyard this June.
What Songs May Do… is a contemporary dance production by former National Dance Company Wales dancer and award-winning choreographer Mathieu Geffré.
Performing to the evocative songs of Nina Simone, two dancers expose the fractured relationship of a once romantic couple as they delve into the past in an attempt to rebuild their future together.
Rendez-Vous Dance is a contemporary dance company led by Mathieu Geffré. The company create projects to shine a light on past and current stories of LGBTQIA+ communities.
Mathieu Geffré’s choreography calls upon intimate emotions to manifest with great physicality, intricacy, and virtuosity. Starting from personal curiosities, the work meets the audience through its universal and accessible resonance.
Rendez-Vous’ practice of dance has no age, no gender, no ethnicity or cultural boundaries. By inviting the audience to become participant, opening the creative process to communities, they promote physical and mental wellbeing through the practice of dance.
What Songs May Do… shines a light on the deep-rooted connection to memory through music and suggests the power of what songs may do. The show celebrates the diversity of love with unashamed romanticism.
This performance has an age recommendation of 13+ (under 13s must be accompanied by an adult), the performance contains haze and partial nudity.
