The Bowens
Bed & Breakfast
The Bowens Bed & Breakfast is a 17th century farmhouse set in an acre of gardens in the Herefordshire village of Fownhope.
Bowens offer a variety of en-suite rooms, catering for single travellers, couples and families. All rooms have private bathrooms with bath and/or shower, TV, hairdryer, free WiFi, tea and coffee making facilities. There is local artists Mark Jenkins work displayed in all rooms to admire or purchase to take home if wished.
The ground-floor courtyard rooms have independent access and allow direct access to your car. Some rooms are accessible to those with mobility issues. Outside, the gardens are laid mainly to lawn with seating areas provided for guests to relax with a book or drink.
All rates include full English breakfast made from locally produced bacon, eggs and award winning sausages. A variety of cereals and fruit juice (including fresh apple juice from our own apples) are included and special dietary needs can usually be accommodated with prior notice.
Fownhope, located approximately 20 minutes from Hereford, Ledbury and Ross on Wye is ideally situated for exploring the Herefordshire countryside and is a popular overnight stop for walkers on the Wye Valley Way or cyclists doing Lands End to John O’Groats route. We can arrange collection or forwarding of walkers luggage by prior arrangement. Fownhope has two pubs, a village shop/post office, church and leisure centre/spa, all within walking distance. There are several other highly rated pub restaurants in nearby villages and we can help make advance reservations if you are planning a special occasion.
