Rowden Mill Station

Self catering

Rowden Mill Station is set in the rolling countryside of North Herefordshire, with the market town of Bromyard a 5-minute drive away.

Built in 1890s and renovated in 1984, the Station has been outwardly restored to its original specifications, while internally it is equipped for modern living.

The Station Building sleeps 4 guests in two bedrooms. It has a lounge with wood-burning stove,a country kitchen and a family bathroom. The magnificent canopy over the platform provides a spectacular setting for outside dining, and where to enjoy the countryside views.

Parcel Office sleeps 2 further along the platform and it is also original to the station. This self-contained space has an en-suite bathroom, a wood-burning stove and kitchen facilities; along with a fabulous home-cinema. The Parcel Office provides a perfect escape for a couple while also works well as an annexe for larger families or friend groups visiting the station.

The Saloon Coach sleeps 4 guests in two bedrooms along with bathroom and a fully-fitted kitchen. Situated next to the former cattle dock just along the line on Platform 2. Thanks to the panorama windows fitted to this former British Railways Inspection Saloon, it enjoys a view of the whole station site from the 1960’s-styled lounge. The Saloon Coach has its own dedicated picnic and bbq facilities.

Rowden Mill Station is well positioned to explore the Malvern Hills and the Wye River valley, the historic town of Hereford or the ‘Black and White’ villages around Leominster. For those who would like to sample the fine food and drink of Herefordshire, we are an ideal place to discover the cider and perry making trails.

The site extends to 2.75 acres of lawns, wild flower meadows and wooded areas,  includes 300+ metres of track, working sets of points, a ground frame and other GWR station technical memorabilia.

Whether you want a quiet retreat in a setting from yesteryear or a base for your visits to the surrounding towns and countryside, Rowden Mill Station is a great choice.
