Home Cook and Tearoom Assistant

Maples Tearoom at Hergest Croft Gardens are looking for a Home Cook and a Tearoom Assistant at Hergest Croft Gardens in Kington.

The tearooms are seeking an  Home Cook (this position is as a stand in cook and tearoom assistant to serve up some tasty lite snacks and traditional, hearty home cooked meals, alongside the two current cooks. Serving home cooked soups, quiches and a daily ‘special’, alongside our standard menu offering a selection of lite lunches such as sandwiches, toasties and jacket potatoes.

This post would also include tasks to support the daily running of our busy tearoom. The ideal candidate should have cooking experience and would be required to hold a Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate (this can be arranged for the right candidate). We require somebody prepared to work 3 days per week on a rota basis (to include some weekends and bank holidays). Cooking hours: 9am-4:30pm Non Cooking hours: 10am-4:30pm   The second position is for 2 to 3 days and some weekends.

The ideal candidate will be organised, confident, and friendly. Level 2 Food Hygiene is required, however, this can be arranged. This post would be 3 days per week on a rota basis (to include some weekends and bank holidays). Working 10am-4:30pm. This post is seasonal running from April 2025 – end of October 2025.
