Take a Big Blooming Break at Brockhampton

Take a Big Blooming Break and immerse yourself in the beauty of blossom at National Trust Brockhampton

The National Trust is encouraging workers to take a Big Blooming Break and enjoy the fleeting moment of blossom in spring. The team at Brockhampton is inviting visitors to take a break in the damson orchard, which has begun bursting with blooms this week.

The National Trust recently launched the Big Blooming Break campaign aimed at encouraging Brits to get outdoors to enjoy the short time in spring when blossom bursts to life. As home to the largest orchards cared for by the National Trust, Brockhampton is a wonderful place to experience this fleeting annual treat.

Amy Ness, an area ranger at Brockhampton in Herefordshire, said: “The Shropshire prune damson trees that surround the house are blooming, dusting the branches with delicate white petals. Thanks to the recent spell of mostly warm, dry weather, we hope to see an especially good blossom season this year.”

The next wave of blossom at Brockhampton will be the pear trees, followed by the apple trees, adorning them with delicate pink and white blooms. As the petals fall and scatter on the ground, they create a picturesque scene surrounding the romantic timbered manor house.
