outstanding treasure of the medieval
world, which records how scholars
interpreted the world over 700 years ago.
The Mappa Mundi is displayed next to
the Chained Library, a unique collection
of printed books and manuscripts dating
from the 9th century. Changing exhibitions
in the library highlight a range of special
items from the library & archives.

The Mappa Mundi & Chained Library Exhibition is located at Hereford
Cathedral and open Monday - Saturday, 10 am - 5 pm (last entry 4.30 pm).
Admission charges for the exhibition apply. Please note that the exhibition is
closed throughout January for essential cleaning and conservation work.
